wedding reception in a penthouse suite, any decorating ideas? Colors: Pale Yellow and White.?

Ok, the room is a little on the darker side. We are going to have cake, hors d’ voures, champagne and drinks…. I am going to have roughly 100 guests. Any help is greatly appreciated!

One thing you didn’t mention – what is the hue or shade of the darker room? This really matters, because sometimes the easiest thing to do is pick up on lighter shades of that color. I personally don’t like the pale yellow/white combo, only because they are too similar. A canary yellow with white would be really pretty, unless the walls are like a dark beige.

I do like the idea of incorporating tea lights (which I love!) as a way of brightening. Another option is to go with light metallics which can be very pretty – in fact, these were my wedding colors! Think of tri-color jewelry and those are the shades – pale gold, pale silver and copper. You can do a lot with this and make it classy. It would also go with darker beige walls.
