Have you ever decided to scrap your big huge wedding plans and just do a destination wedding?

We are seriously both not enjoying any of the huge stress on how to plan this and more so have no money to pay for this huge wedding. So much so we are close to eloping but dont want to do that so we are considering going down south in the winter. Did you do a destination wedding and enjoy it?

My friends had been together for over 10 years and had 3 kids.. typical all american family. They were planning a HUGE wedding in dec of 06. but the “moms” just became momzillas and took over the whole wedding. The “moms” did nothing that my friends wanted. So they scrapped the whole wedding about 4 months before it was scheduled. My friends were paying for the whole wedding themselves. So they decided to get married on valentines day of 08, down at a resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands with just their little family. Well when they caught wind of their moms secret decision to quietly show up and attend their private wedding. They changed their plans. Took the kids to vegas.. and got married in Vegas on dec 25, 2007 at the chapel of the fountain at the circus circus hotel. They paid a little bit more money then the basic package for extra photos. Their son was the best man, eldest girl was the maid of honor, youngest girl was ring bearer/flower girl. It took about 30 minutes. Then they went to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The next day they took the kids all around vegas to have some fun. My friends did take a 4 day honeymoon to a B&B to Okracoke Island, NC. But they said they will never forget their time in Vegas, and how much fun they had with their children. I hope this helps. good luck.
