Unique Wedding Ideas
Anyone have special wedding ideas?
I’m planning my wedding for next year. This is my second one and I really want to include my boys in some special way into the ceremony. They’re older, 20, 17 and 15 and the wedding will be small-about 40 of our closest friends and family in all. I’d like them to be more than just ushers. I’m not sure if a sand ceremony where we all add colored sand to a container to show our blending of families really fits us. They’re older and they live with their dad and I think they would think that it would be a little stupid. Any other ideas out there?
I think the easiest way is to include them in the vows. There are several points in traditional vows where you can add statements about your families.
Also, is there any reason why the boys could not stand next to your groom? They don’t have to be ushers.
Finally, have you asked your boys what they would like to do? They may want to make a speech or have a suggestion of how they could incorporate their talents into your wedding (play a song on guitar, MC the music, design the graphics for your invitations, etc.).
